Empowering youth.
Strengthening families.

King Over Clowns is a Central Ohio nonprofit that uses boxing and structured physical activity to help youth and families build confidence, healthy coping skills, and connections to community resources.

Why it exists

King Over Clowns is committed to empowering youth and families through wellness, physical activity, mentorship, personal development, and access to community resources. The mission is to create safe, supportive environments where people can develop confidence, healthy coping skills, discipline, teamwork, and positive relationships while connecting with resources that support their overall well-being.

How it connects to Uphill Boxing

King Over Clowns works in connection with Uphill Boxing, a community boxing and fitness program that provides a structured environment for physical activity, training, mentorship, and personal development. That relationship lets the nonprofit use an existing gym as a platform for community programming — participants get introduced to positive physical activity while also building life skills, relationships, and links to resources.

King Over Clowns focuses on the nonprofit and community-support mission. Uphill Boxing provides the boxing and fitness environment that engages participants. Together that's physical wellness and community support in one room.

The programs

King Over Clowns uses boxing and structured physical activity as engagement tools for wellness and personal development. Community-based programming gives participants the chance to:

  • Participate in structured boxing and fitness activities
  • Develop healthy coping and stress-management skills
  • Build confidence, discipline, and goal-setting skills
  • Strengthen communication and teamwork
  • Develop positive relationships with mentors and peers
  • Participate in wellness and personal-development activities
  • Connect with appropriate community resources and support services

Coming next: a community food pantry
